Prior to the 90s policies were not informed, or even discussed in IST training. In today's Corrections policies are sternly enforced and not only discussed, but OJT is given and a paper is signed by staff acknowledging that fact, so it can and will be held against you when your on "the carpet."

In the past, and very "near to home" there has been documented incidences where an Officer faced his own baton, in the hands of a "crazed Inmate," or during a "riot" involving multiple combatants and responding staff. In this very delicate situation, either talk the Inmated "down," or take more "agressive actions."

So if you wish not to affect his health, go for his property in his cell, and confiscate some personal items of his "cellie" for good measure. |
